L'empereur [Napoleon] - Jack Huang

20 hours, photobash, photoshop and overpaint.

I always wanted to portray Napoleon more of his real self than many of the romantic portraits that ether portrayed him as a Byronic hero or a sagely God- King effulgent with regalia that he never liked to dress in ("Sacre" Emperor.) Instead here is Napoleon, the man, a man who I respect and find endlessly fascinating, and worthy of memory across ages. Yet this is him more raw than most other depictions. A portrait of his naked ambition, ruthlessness, and also paralyzing mystique, that Napoleon~ as seen by the Austrians and his other enemies many times, the vanquisher that dictated to empires before he even reached his 30th birthday.

Here is him, fished out of the void, giving you an arresting measuring look, and (if he chooses) threatens you with at the head of some blazing cannonade, advancing Corps, and pouring colonne d'attaques. Here is Napoleon raw, a hard draft with a strong taste.
